The model behind Celenia was originally founded in 1990 by Henrik Kristiansen as Hotcom Informatik. Hotcom Informatik, developed and sold solutions for Navision. In 1999, R&D spun off to create Celenia Software a/s.
In 2000, Henrik Kristiansen sold Hotcom Informative to focus full attention on the growth of Celenia.
In 2001, Celenia established its development center in Kiev, Ukraine. The center, which employs highly skilled programmers, systems designers and other IT professionals, handles Celenia’s partner projects as well as development projects for Microsoft.
In March 2007, Celenia Software N.A. Inc. was established to manage the American market. Day to day management is headed by Karina Nielson, who moved to the USA and established a full-service office based in Atlanta, Georgia.
By the end of 2010, Celenia Software obtained new ownership and restructured its team in Ukraine. The company, driven by Henrik Kristiansen, was renamed Celenia Software.
In 2011, Celenia established its development center in Mexico City, Mexico.
