Our heavy involvement in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, through the TAP and Beta programs, our Internal AX2012 implementation, and now several Pre-Sales, Implementations, and Upgrade Projects with Partners has put our services and resources at extra high demand.

The US Dynamics Partners are really looking to take on the AX for Retail product. The interest for the AX for Retail Training in August was immense, and the seats were quickly fully booked. Thus, we setup a new AX for Retail Training together with Microsoft, taking place 3-6 October, 2011.

With the hughe interest for the AX for Retail training session in August we had to create a waiting list after extending the number of seats. All individuals who were signed up on the waiting list has automatically been re-assigned to the new training session. The Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Sales and Pre-Sales Roadshow takes place across the US 23 August  – 1 Sepember.
The Event in Atlanta is scheduled for 1 September at Microsoft in Alpharetta.

 Being among the first to go live is always an exciting process of tweaking, testing, annoying set-backs, long working hours, logging issues while you really just want to get back on track with the implementation… However, going live on the first modules of AX 2012 was actually a relatively smooth operation. We are now live on the GL, AR, and AP modules. This is a first crucial step, and the next phase is already in the works; rolling out a full-fledged go-live of the Bank and Projects modules as well.

The new add-ins let you use Microsoft Word to build templates and documents to structure information from AX 2012, and Excel can be used to view, analyze, and update information in AX 2012. The bidirectional interoperability ensures that the user can access and refresh data in AX2012 without even leaving Excel and Word.

The user familiarity with Microsoft solutions and applications extends to Microsoft Office 2010, Project Server 2010, Visual Studio 2010, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, SharePoint Server 2010, Search Server 2010, Search Server Express 2010, Fast Search Server 2010, and more.

With the release of the new AX version, there will also be a natural push towards moving to AX 2012 as Microsoft’s support goes only one version back. At Celenia Software we can only recommend Dynamics Partners to start upgrading their customers as early as possible to avoid making this process unnecessarily costly. It will always be more time consuming to upgrade from ex. version 3 to 5 compared to jumping only one version up, from 4 to 5.  This is even more so the case when dealing with customizations which will complicate the process even more.
